See what a critique looks like

This is a real photo and the kind of critique you get back. Every pin is tied to a spot in the frame.

The Eiffel Tower lit at blue hour above the Seine, with clouds streaked by a long exposure

Eiffel Tower, blue hour

Canon EOS 6D Mark II · 24 mm · f/22 · 173 s · ISO 100

Overall

8.2

A calm, confident frame. The light and the subject are strong. A few small cleanups would make it feel finished.

  • Composition8/10The tower sits near the center line and the sky streaks point at it. The bottom third is heavy.
  • Light9/10Warm tower against a cool blue sky. Clear separation and no blown highlights.
  • Color8/10Orange against blue is the point. The teal water echoes the sky and keeps the palette tight.
  • Subject9/10One clear subject. Nothing else competes for the eye.
  • Edit7/10Shadows are crushed at the base of the tower, and the quay corner is still in the frame.

Try these edits next

  1. Crop about 5% off the bottom
  2. Lift shadows by +20 on the tower base
  3. Lower the top corners by 0.3 EV to hold the eye on the tower

Settings note

f/22 adds diffraction softness. A stronger ND filter would let you shoot at f/11 and keep the same streaks.

Everything a good critique needs

Specific, repeatable, and tied to the photo in front of you.

  • Notes pinned to the photo

Each comment points at a spot in the frame, not at the photo in general.

  • Five scores, every time

Composition, light, color, subject, and edit. The same rubric on every upload, so scores are comparable.

  • Edit steps you can follow

Advice like "lift shadows by +20", not "improve the contrast".

  • Reads your EXIF

Aperture, shutter speed, and ISO shape the advice. Shot at f/22? You will hear about diffraction.

  • Compare two shots

  • Your tone and genre

Choose gentle, direct, or blunt. Say whether you shoot street, landscape, or portraits.

Upload both. Critique Coach picks one and tells you why.

A
The Eiffel Tower seen from below through autumn leaves, with sun flare at the lower right
B

Pick B

  1. The tower fills more of the frame, so it reads as the subject.
  2. The sun flare at the lower right adds warmth and depth.
  3. A has a cleaner gap in the leaves, but the tower is small inside it.

Questions

What kinds of photos work?

Any genre: landscape, street, portrait, architecture, product. Upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP. We resize large files for you.

Does it edit my photo?

No. It only critiques. Your file is never changed.

Which AI is behind it?

Claude, made by Anthropic. Claude looks at the image itself, not just the metadata.

Are my photos private?

Yes. Your photos are private to your account. We do not use them to train models, and you can delete any photo and its critique at any time.

How is this different from asking a chatbot?

Critique Coach pins notes on the photo, scores five set categories the same way every time, reads your EXIF, and remembers past critiques so you can track progress.

Will it be harsh?

You choose: gentle, direct, or blunt. The advice stays specific in every tone.

When can I try it?
